MINUTES OF MEETING
HELD ON TUESDAY 08 MAY 2007 AT 7.30PM

98/06 WELCOME:
The Mayor welcomed all Members of Council, those who had been re-elected, and those elected to the Town Council for the first time. He expressed condolences to those members who had stood and failed to gain re-election and these sentiments were endorsed by the Council.
99/06 ANNUAL MEETING AND MAYOR MAKING 11/05/07:
Members discussed detailed arrangements for the Mayor Making meeting.
RESOLVED: That the Agenda and Programme be prepared as now agreed.
100/06 APPOINTMENT OF COMMITTEES AND PANELS 2007/2008:
Members considered the list of current appointments to the Finance Committee and the Planning Panel and RESOLVED the following:
Finance Committee (8 members) - Councillors Cresswell, Downes, Granter, Parker, Richards, Mrs Slocombe, Smeed and Turner.
Planning Panel (7 members) - Councillors Downes, Munn, Parker, Preece, M/s Raven, Smeed and Turner.
101/06 CALENDER OF MEETINGS:
RESOLVED: That the provisional calendar of meetings be approved.
102/06 MODEL CODE OF CONDUCT:
The Town Clerk reported on the Local Authorities (Model Code of Conduct) Order 2007 (SI No. 1159), which came into effect on 3 May 2007. This was designed to introduce a clear, simpler and more proportionate code and amended rules particularly those dealing with personal and prejudicial interests. The Council now had six months in which to adopt the model code, or to adopt the code with local amendments.
RESOLVED: That this be brought forward for adoption at the next meeting of the Council.
