Bridgwater’s Museum is known as Blake Museum as it is housed in the reputed birthplace of Admiral Robert Blake, born 1598.
Blake Museum was founded in 1926 and is still in the original building at:

The museum is FREE to enter and has many interesting collections for Bridgwater and surrounding areas.
The museum covers the villages in an area from south of Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge to Thurloxton, and Ashcott to Nether Stowey in the west.
