Last Chance to Showcase Your Business Success!

Posted on 28th January, 2019 in News

Sedgemoor District Council, as one of the main sponsors of the Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards, is making a final call for entries fearing that some potential winners might miss out because they have not heard of the competition or thought about entering. The benefits of entering the Awards, which have a range of different categories, include attending a gala evening celebrating local success and the publicity that comes from being judged a leader in your chosen field. Past winners have found that the process of entering has helped raise staff morale as well as being an excuse to take a...

Quantock Meadow Foot Bridge

Posted on 28th January, 2019 in News

A new steel footbridge is set to be installed at the beginning of next week (28th Jan) in Quantock Meadow in Bridgwater. The new bridge will replace an old timber bridge down near Whitegate Fields.  It is a popular walkway for nearby schools, there has been plenty of signage put up over the past week to warn people that it will be closed from Monday, 28th January for 12 days in order to allow the dismantling and clearance of the old bridge, as well as installing the new bridge.  It is hoped that the work will be finished on Friday, 8th February.

Don’t be fooled by Council Tax scammers

Posted on 28th January, 2019 in News

Sedgemoor District Council is warning residents not to be taken in by a company claiming to be acting on behalf of Sedgemoor District Council.  Residents have told us that they have received calls either asking for up-front fee via the residents bank account and card details in return for ‘lowering their council tax band’ or checking if they are on the correct council tax band. This is NOT a phone call from Sedgemoor District Council.  Council Tax bands are set by the Valuation Office Agency and can only be changed under certain conditions. Details can be found...
