Beneficiaries from the Bridgwater Town Council ward grants programme:-

ACTS THEATRE SCHOOL – £1,728 – assisting with the production costs of the highly successful Les Miserables

RHODE LANE WANDERERS – £2,472 – enabling the football team to travel to Bridgwater’s twin town in the Czech Republic, playing football! And representing Somerset at it’s best!

SOMERSET FILM & VIDEO LTD – £436 – to help with continuing the provision of free ‘drop-in’ and advisory service at Bridgwater’s Engine Room.

BAOS – £1,500 – allowing the purchase of essential radio microphones to enhance sound reproduction.

BRIDGWATER FLOWER SHOW – £500 – staging of the much loved Bridgwater Flower Show.

BRIDGWATER AND DISTRICT CIVIC SOCIETY – £300 – helping with essential admin costs to continue marketing this ‘local’ civic society.

BRIDGWATER AND DISTRICT CIVIC SOCIETY – £600 – supporting local young people through summer projects 2008.

HOME-START SEDGEMOOR – £1,500 – to help recruit, train and forward manage team of volunteers.

SEDGEMOOR CAB – £2,500 – helping with training costs and outreach locations.

BRIDGWATER ARTS CENTRE – £2,600 – essential core funding.

SEDGEMOOR VOLUNTEER CENTRE – £1,500 – assisting with admin costs for outreach services.

BRIDGWATER ARTS CENTRE – £16,000 – additional one-off grant to enable full programme of planned events to run through 2008/9, in the light of SDC budget cuts and reduction in annual grant in 2008/9.
