TTRO Temporary Traffic Restrictions Bridgwater Carnival 2018

SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, BRIDGWATER) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2018 (BRIDGWATER GUY FAWKES CARNIVAL AND FIREWORKS DISPLAY)

Notice is hereby given that Somerset County Council intends to make an Order in pursuance of the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to introduce temporary traffic restrictions as specified in the Schedules to the Order.

This Order shall come into operation on the 23rd day of October 2018 and shall remain in force for eighteen months. The restrictions shall apply when indicated by traffic signs and staffed (where required) and will remain in force only for as long as is necessary.

The Order will be made to facilitate the Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival and Fireworks Weekend and is in the interest of public safety.

This Order shall come into operation from 15:30 hours on 2nd November 2018 and will continue in force until 01:00am on 4th November 2018 (the times the various restrictions will apply are specified in the schedules to this Order).

Nothing in the Order shall apply to:

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the Bridgwater Carnival with the authority
of the Bridgwater Carnival Committee.
(i) Anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform;
(ii) Police, Fire and Ambulance emergency service vehicles.
(iii) Vehicles falling within regulation 3(1), 3(2), 3(3) and 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011(a) when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations

STATEMENT OF REASONS FOR PROPOSING TO MAKE THE ORDER

For avoiding danger to persons, or other traffic using the road, or any other road, or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
